Madomi Referrals Are Here: Invite Friends, Both Get Free Credits

Madomi now has a referral program. Share your code, and when someone redeems it you both get 50 free manga translation credits.

We’ve been asked the same thing for a while: “I told my friend about Madomi, do I get anything for that?” Until now the answer was no. It is yes as of today.

The Madomi referral program is live in the browser extension and in the mobile app. Every account gets its own code. Anyone who redeems it gets 50 free translation credits, and so do you. There’s no cap on how many people you can invite.

How the Madomi referral program works

Three steps, and none of them involve a form:

  1. Open Madomi and go to Settings. Under Invite friends you’ll see your personal referral code.
  2. Copy it, or hit share to send it straight to a chat.
  3. Your friend opens Madomi, taps Have a referral code?, types it in, and redeems.

The moment the code goes through, 50 credits land on their account and 50 land on yours. No waiting for them to subscribe, no approval step, no minimum activity. One credit translates one image, so 50 credits is roughly a couple of chapters of reading on the house for each of you.

Your code is generated the first time you open Settings, and it’s permanent after that. It’s 8 characters, uppercase, with no confusing zeros or letter O’s in it, because we assumed people would be reading these out loud and typing them into group chats. They do.

One code, every version of Madomi

This part matters more than it sounds. Your referral code belongs to your Pawaka account, not to a particular app. The same code works on:

  • The Madomi extension for Chrome and Firefox
  • The Madomi app on Android
  • The Madomi app on iOS

So you can grab your code from the extension on your laptop, send it to a friend who only reads on their phone, and it works. Redeeming on one platform credits your account everywhere, since the credit balance is shared too.

Where the credits actually go

Madomi’s free plan gives you a batch of credits every month, and that allowance resets on its own schedule. Referral credits are separate. They sit on top of your monthly free credits as a balance, and they get spent only after the free ones run out. That also means they don’t disappear at the next monthly reset. They stay there until you use them.

If you’re on Madomi Premium, you already have unlimited translations, so referral credits won’t change your day to day. Sharing your code still gives your friend their 50, which is a decent way to get someone off the fence.

The rules, in plain terms

We tried to keep this simple, so there isn’t much fine print:

  • One redemption per account, ever. You can enter someone’s code once. After that the option stops appearing.
  • You can’t redeem your own code. We check.
  • Invite as many people as you like. There’s currently no limit on how many referrals you can earn from.
  • Three wrong codes in a row pauses you for an hour. That’s there to stop people guessing at random codes, not to punish typos, and it clears itself.

Every redemption is logged against both accounts, so if something looks off we can look at it. Please don’t make farms of throwaway accounts to credit yourself. We’d rather spend our GPU time on people actually reading manga, and if this gets abused the honest fix is to make the program worse for everyone.

What is Madomi, if you’re new here

Madomi is a manga translator that works as a browser extension on Chrome and Firefox, and as a native app on Android and iOS. Open any raw manga chapter, activate Madomi, and it reads the Japanese text inside every speech bubble using OCR built for manga fonts, then overlays the translation in your language as you scroll.

It’s rated 4.8 out of 5 from 270+ Chrome Web Store ratings with 10,000+ active users, which makes it the highest-rated manga translator extension. The free plan gives you credits every month at 1 credit per translated image, and Madomi Premium removes the limit.

If you want the longer walkthrough, we wrote one on translating any manga instantly with Madomi. It also pairs well with our guides to reading Korean manhwa and Chinese manhua in your own language.

FAQ

Where do I find my Madomi referral code? Settings, under “Invite friends”. It’s the same place in the extension popup and in the mobile app.

How many credits do I get per referral? 50 for you and 50 for the friend who redeems, on every successful referral.

Do referral credits expire? No. They’re a balance, not a monthly allowance, so they carry over until you spend them.

Can I use a code if I’ve been using Madomi for months? Yes. There’s no new-account requirement. If you’ve never redeemed a code before, you can redeem one now.

Does this replace the affiliate program? They’re different things. Referrals give credits when someone signs up. The affiliate program pays cash on subscriptions. If you were using the affiliate side, your existing links and payouts are untouched.

Go Tell Someone About Madomi

Your code is sitting in Settings right now. Send it to the one friend who keeps complaining that their favourite series is three years behind in English.
