Best Manhwa Raw Sites in 2026: Where to Read Raw Korean Webtoons Online

If you search for manhwa raws, most of the results are aggregator sites. They’re full of pop-ups, chapters are often missing pages, and the episodes on them were usually taken from the official Korean apps anyway.

The official Korean platforms are easier to use than most people expect. They work in a normal browser from outside Korea, and a lot of the episodes on them are free. The main problem is that everything is in Korean.

These are the sites where Korean webtoons are actually published.

Naver Webtoon (comic.naver.com)

Naver Webtoon is the biggest webtoon platform and the one to check first. Each series updates on a set day of the week, and you can read those episodes for free without waiting and usually without an account. Naver sells a currency called Cookies, but you only need it if you want to read episodes before they become free.

Tower of God and Lookism both started on Naver, as did most of the series that WEBTOON later translates into English. We have a separate guide on reading Naver Webtoon in English.

KakaoPage (page.kakao.com)

KakaoPage is Kakao’s main platform and where Solo Leveling ran. Most series use a system called Wait For Free: you read one episode, then the next one unlocks after a wait of somewhere between 12 and 72 hours, depending on the series. Series that work this way have a clock icon.

Kakao has said it will merge Kakao Webtoon and Tapas into KakaoPage by the end of 2026, so this is the Kakao site to get used to. There’s more detail in how to read KakaoPage in English.

Kakao Webtoon (webtoon.kakao.com)

Kakao Webtoon is Kakao’s second storefront. It has a different catalogue from KakaoPage and uses the same Wait For Free timer. If you can’t find a series on one, check the other.

Ridibooks (ridibooks.com)

Ridibooks is a paid store rather than a free reader. It has the best selection of romance and BL, and you buy episodes or volumes instead of waiting for them to unlock. Ridibooks also owns Manta, its English app, but Manta only has a small part of the Korean catalogue. Our Ridibooks guide covers how to pay with a foreign card.

Lezhin (lezhin.com)

Lezhin uses coins, has a lot of mature titles, and carries series you won’t find on Naver or Kakao. It also has an English site, but the Korean site is usually further ahead.

Two smaller sites are also worth knowing about. Naver Series sells completed webtoons and web novels by the episode, and Bomtoon focuses on romance and BL.

Using these sites from outside Korea

Reading free episodes works from anywhere, and Naver usually doesn’t ask you to log in. Paying is harder. Korean sites often require a Korean payment method or Korean identity verification, so most readers outside Korea stick to Naver’s free episodes and Kakao’s Wait For Free.

Why so few of these are in English

The official English apps are worth supporting, but they only carry a portion of what’s published in Korea. WEBTOON has some of Naver’s catalogue. Tapas had some of Kakao’s, but Kakao announced in September 2026 that it is shutting Tapas down. Manta, Tappytoon and Lezhin’s English site each have their own selection.

English releases also run behind. Solo Leveling ended in Korea at the end of 2021 and the English version finished in April 2022, about four months later, which is a short delay by webtoon standards. Many series are a hundred or more episodes behind in English, and series that never get licensed are never translated at all.

Manhwa, by the way, is the Korean word for comics. Most manhwa today are full-colour webtoons made to be read by scrolling down on a phone.

Reading Korean episodes in English

The free way is to use Google Lens or the camera in Google Translate on each panel. That’s fine for a few panels but slow for a whole episode.
